This film follows the tracks of the ore coltan around the globe: from the mines of the DR Congo via the smelting plants of China and Malaysia to the shops and customers across the world. At the film’s core is the story of Congolese artist Yves Ndagano, a former child soldier and mine worker in a coltan mine in the eastern part of the DR Congo. Ndagano returns to the places of his childhood for the first time. With the help of a puppet, he tells his story at original locations: his school, the place where he was kidnapped and the coltan mines of Goma and Bukavu. He seeks to confront his own biography, re-writing and continuing it.
